STAGE 05

Write what the product already expects.

Document the behavior, states, and recurring rules that already exist in the app. “Later” means unwritten here, not missing from the product.

Complete when

The system describes how the existing product behaves; recurring rules no longer live only in code or contributor memory.

Not done if

Inventing a new product model; doing more Catalog mapping instead of writing rules; treating remaining split implementations as a Rules problem.

Evidence before advancement

  • Review the whole product scope relevant to this stage, not a hand-picked sample.
  • Compare the stage’s stated job with what changed in files, behavior, documentation, and coverage.
  • If the evidence falls short, keep the product on this stage rather than advancing the tracker.
  • Do not start the next stage’s work merely because the next step is obvious.

Keep the two clocks separate.

The From Prototype stage tracker says which job the product is doing now. Coverage says what portions of the design system are actually resolved. Stage movement is not permission to relabel unresolved coverage.
